Cameron studied with Channing Robbins and Leonard Rose at Juilliard Preparatory School. At Juilliard she refined her skills, playing on recording sessions in New York. She earned her BM and MM degrees in cello performance from Oberlin College and the New England Conservatory of Music, studying with Richard Kapuscinski and Lawrence Lesser. An active freelance musician, her engagements range from Symphony New Hampshire, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Masterworks Chorale at Sanders Theater, to Marriage of Figaro with Boston Lyric Opera - to Theater District Broadway Shows. Her recording for the PBS show "Race, the Power of an Illusion" was internationally broadcast. Productive summers have been spent with the Aspen Festival Chamber Orchestra, New Hampshire Music Festival and the Lake George Opera. She is the artistic director of the Boston Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. http://bostonvirtuosi.org/musicians/cameron-sawzin/ Ms. Sawzin has served for several years as guest cello faculty at the University of New Hampshire and has teaching studios at the Munroe Center for the Performing Arts in Lexington, and in Andover. She is well-known for her ability to create a relaxed, natural and expressive technique and has been invited by the Lexington String Faculty to present her "Kick-boxing cellist" Masterclass to all Lexington cellists. It focuses on connecting upper and lower body, balance, and creating an efficient kinetic chain and yes, she does kickboxing! For the past tree years, one of her students has been the principal cellist of the most advanced Lexington orchestra and is again this year. She also plays non-classical cello and has been a guest and advisor for the New Directions Cello Festival. Her etude-caprice "The Oily Weasel Blues" is much loved by her students. Cameron's recording with Nu Jazz guitarist Jeff Cashen is entitled "A Bunch of Guitars and a cello" youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aDmcQQUM1Q>and i
